REMEMBER THE ALAMO

The Alamo was a short walk away from our hotel.  There is lots of history inside to read about.  The garden in the back is quite beautiful and boasts an enormous Live Oak Tree.

Leaving the Alamo, Shelia and I walked to La Valitta where we enjoyed several art and craft shops and a light lunch.  There is also a beautiful amphitheater there and a lovely old church. Shelia and I spent a long time in a textile shop where we each made a purchase.  I bought a gorgeous piece made in Guadeloupe. We also checked the historical Menger Hotel, an old church and a beautiful cathedral.

Shelia and I visited San Fernando Cathedral where Davy Crockett is buried.

We also searched for and finally found this small church...

What a wonderful day.  Time to sit and relax by the river.
