Paula and George on Vacation Part VI

ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO

Everyone we spoke to said "Don't bother with Albuquerque, go straight to Santa Fe." That was our plan. But then there was this cute elderly couple volunteering at the Information Desk at the airport who said, "Not so, there is plenty to see here!" After listening to them for what must have been about 30 minutes, we decided to spend the night. We explored the Plaza area starting with San Felipe De Neri, the oldest church in Albuquerque, which has served the community since 1706. Beautiful.

There are lots of shops and galleries to explore. We saw many of them.

We were told to dine at the Church Street Cafe and were not disappointed. The owner sat down at our table to swap restaurant stories with George.

We did not spend a lot of time in Albuquerque, but we can say that we gave it a shot.

But Santa Fe and Taos beckoned, so we got on the road the next morning.
