The next day, Tuesday, we drove over the mountains to sister Cyn's house. But before I went to her house, I got a new doo.
Cyn's yard is beautiful, she is a great hostess and I got to see the dogs.
George wanted to see Thomas Jefferson's Monticello. Want is, so we went. While visiting with Cyn, we explored the county and ended up at George's friend's house, Andre Viette. He is quite well known for his day lillies. They were not home (wonder if they are in St. Thomas) but we walked around the fabulous gardens.
Next, we drove south to Roanoke, VA where we had a wonderful visit with sister Marsha and her family.
The next morning we started out early for Greenville, SC. We drove the Blue Ridge Parkway for a while in NC and took a detour in Blowing Rock, one of my favorite places. One of my earlier blogs is on this area.
We arrived in Greenville late afternoon and had a wonderful dinner at Soby's with our host and hostess. The next day, we drove back into NC and toured The Biltmore. A must do if you are anywhere near this place. You cannot take pictures inside the house, but you can outside. The gardens are unbeliebable.
